This is something where I got greedy — I just had a fantasy of some of my favorite Austin artists covering songs by more of my favorite Austin artists, and I wanted to see it play out. And what’s amazing to me is that it actually happened. The ‘actually happening’ part is due specifically to Randy Reynolds, who gets things done, but also more generally to the spirit of the Austin music community. Everyone signed on and made it happen. I work with all of these artists through Frog Music Licensing, and beyond just the deep + crazy pool of talent there’s also an enthusiasm and a humility here that is rarer than we might realize. I hope you’ll find new artists in here who you will love, and new songs by artists you already do. And now that the cross-pollination thing actually happened, I hope we’ll do it again.
